29 Jan 2021 NSWRL Junior Representative Squad Announcement
The NSWRL Junior Representative competition kicks off the first weekend of February. Parramatta Referees is proud to be able to contribute to the official squad of match officials who will be controlling the Harold Matthews, Tasha Gale and S.G Ball cup matches this season. This year the age groups have slightly changed due to the competition being suspended last year, this ensures that players from the squads last year do not miss out on playing in their Junior Representative squads. Harold Matthews is now Under 17s, Tarsha Gala and SG ball are now under 19s.
In no particular order, we congratulate our following members who have been selected for the 2021 NSWRL Junior Representative Referees squad. Ethan Murray, Ethan Klein, Harrison Bayssari, Isaac El-Hassan, Olivia Lawne, Todd Pieters, Lukas Durrant, Corey Fisher, Dante Liu and in his debut season Zac Fares. That’s a massive 10 members from Parramatta Referees taking part in this season Jnr Rep competition.
All ten of these officials have worked extremely hard since the conclusion of the 2020 Rugby League season to ensure they are ready to officiate at their best. The Jnr rep season is a short 9 round, state based competition of all the best players in their respective age groups playing all the way from Newcastle to Canberra. This season all three age groups will be running with a new look finals system which will be made up of the top 6 teams in their respective age groups. The Harold Matthews and SG Ball Cup competition is made up of 15 teams, while the Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup is made up of 9 teams.
We would also like to extend our congratulations to Parramatta Referees Life Member Ken McNaught who is one of four head coaches for the NSWRL Jnr Rep Referees squad. It’s great to see Ken progressing in his coaching career after providing 20+ years of service in the Parramatta District as a Coaching Match Official.
Once again, congratulations and good luck for the season.
