The NSWRL has today confirmed the return dates for community rugby league, following an announcement from the NSW Government in relation to community sport.

The announcement indicates that all community rugby league fixtures are set to resume on Saturday 18th July. Rugby league clubs and associations will be able to commence training in groups of no more than ten with immediate effect and will be permitted to have full body contact sessions from July 1st.

NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said it was exciting and welcome news for more than 80,000 girls and boys from 700 clubs across the state.

“This is a really positive outcome, not only for the Rugby League community, but the broader community and we are grateful that the NSW Government has given the green light for a return to children’s sport,” Trodden said.

“It is really important though that we all remain vigilant and adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines that have been set so we can all enjoy the return of sport for the long-term.”

The announcement serves as exciting news for the Parramatta Referees Association, as members look forward to returning to the field for another great season of junior rugby league.
