Parramatta Referees 2025 Coaching Announcement

As we continue to raise the standards of officiating within the Parramatta District Rugby League Referees Association (PDRLRA), we’re proud to introduce our 2025 Coaching Staff — a team of dedicated leaders committed to developing, supporting, and progressing referees.

In a first for the Association, this new coaching structure represents a modernised approach to referee development. It offers greater flexibility and ensures the Association remains aligned with contemporary standards and practices.

Director of Officiating

Ethan Murray steps into the key leadership role of Director of Officiating for the 4th season, overseeing the entire officiating program. His role ensures our referees are supported by high-quality training, consistent performance standards, and clear development pathways.

Ethan’s vision and leadership are central to aligning our officiating practices with pathways above.

Pathways & Development Coach

In the role of Pathways Coach, Ken McNaught plays a crucial part in bridging the gap between community officiating and Junior Representatives pathways, in conjunction with the Director Of Officiating they will oversee the PDRLRA emerging squad & systems & processes in place.

Ken’s experience and dedication is helping shape the next generation of top-level referees.

Senior Development Coaches

Our Senior Development Coaches work closely with match officials at district, including Junior Reps, to ensure they are well-prepared, confident, and equipped to handle the demands of advanced officiating.

This experienced trio brings leadership and tactical insight to support our most advanced officials.

Junior Development Coaches

Our Junior Development Coaches are the backbone of referee growth, working closely with newcomers and those in the early stages of their journey.

With a focus on building strong foundations, this team plays a vital role in shaping capable and confident officials from the ground up.
